As parts of the efforts to fulfil his campaign promises of improving the living condition of the residents, the Chairman of Abuja of Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, Tuesday, commenced tour of ongoing and completed projects initiated and completed by his administration in different AMAC communities.

The AMAC chairman, alongside his entourage, including top executives of the council, journalists and security agents inspected the installation of a 500kva by 11 lines transformer in Kugbo community and 500metre road in the same Kugbo community.

From Kugbo, Maikalangu made a stop over at Jikwoyi community, where he inspected the ongoing construction of a 945 metres road in Jikwoyi Phase 1 and a 10,000 liters overhead tank solar borehole project in Angwan Gade, Jikwoyi, rehabilitation of Orozo access road, rural electrification in Orozo community, rehabilitation of Jikwoi access road, installation of 500 KVA transformer in Karu community and rehabilitation of Gwagwalape access road.

He also inspected a 2.15km road project in Kpeyegyi community, saying that the road projects will be completed within 3 weeks and asked residents to support the efforts of his administration in providing life transforming projects to them by protecting these projects and see it as their own.

He said: "I am happy to be here today to inspect as much projects as possible being undertaken by my administration. What I always advise people is to regard government property as their own. Once you have that mentality, you will protect the property the way you would protect your personal properties."

"All the road projects you are seeing in Jikwoyi and Kpeyegyi, I am assuring you that they will be completed within three weeks. They're not going to be abandoned projects. They will be completed for immediate use. I am grateful for the people supporting the administration. I want you all to continue being good residents." 

At Karshi community, Maikalangu inspected the construction of a comprehensive motorized borehole at Karshi Agwan, including the renovation of the secretariat. 

Speaking at Karshi, the Head of Works and Housing, Arch. Andrew Gaza, said that the water project is the basic need of the people as water is life. "Among other projects initiated and executed by the Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, this is the one that is dearest to the people of Karshi. This water project has many fetching points across the community. It is greatly appreciated by the people," he said. 

While showing his appreciation for the water project, a member of Karshi community, Yakubu Audu, who represented the youth leader, said that the water project is of immense benefit to the community as they have been battling with issues of potable water for years. 

At the Emir of Karshi palace, where the AMAC chairman visited to mark the end of the project tour in Karshi, he was warmly welcomed by the emir, HRH Ismaila Mohammed, who tasked the chairman on quality leadership.
